Many beaches allow dogs only in marked zones or outside the summer months, so the beach page's rules section is worth reading before a visit.
How we verify dogs allowed
A beach is marked dog-friendly when its own OpenStreetMap tag says dogs are allowed, off leash or on one, or when the operator's rules page says so. The tag value or the page and its date are on each beach page. A beach with neither is not listed either way. Sources and methodology
